The order of the Skin Saints began with Vespertine, the Saint of the Sanguine Glyph.Driven by grief and forbidden knowledge, she sought a truth that could not be written, only etched in the body. Her faith attracted five others, each seeking a purpose in death. Now, they are no longer who they were. Their names are altered,their pasts forgotten, replaced by a grotesque holiness. They do not Surf, they do not fight for Justice, they simply harvest.
 
Aethel was once a symbol of the future, her symbol a beacon. Her faith in a better tomorrow was broken, like a fallen star. Now she wears the tattered symbols of her past, her symbols twisted and corrupted. Her cage holds not a person, but the last remnants of her broken soul.
